News from the County Chairman...

Oh hey!

Firstly, what amazing talent to we have in SFYFC!

The Competitions Day was a huge success! A big thank you must go to the Competitions Committee for organising a triumphant day for all. It was great to see Newport winning the Disco Dancing. Alberbury and Clun go forward to the next round of senior MACE Debating to represent SFYFC. We had a record number of 7 teams entering the Junior Speaking competition this year, with an extremely high standard seen throughout. A big well done to Dorrington for winning, and Alberbury for coming second. Good luck to all our teams competing at the West Midlands Area competitions on 4th February!

We have also ran three tremendous training sessions: Welding, Cake Decorating and Flower Arranging. Thank you to everyone who asked for and supported the training. A huge thanks go to Training Officer Lil Davies for arranging it all.

The Annual Bowling competition took SFYFC by storm and this year we had a new winning team…Alberbury! We had so many clubs enter this year that the Competitions Committee had to find extra lanes! The After Dance at the Buttermarket again this year was a really great social. Thanks to the Social committee for running such a smooth event.

Last Sunday we had the Senior and Junior Member of the Year and Situations Vacant competitions at FBC Manby Bowdler in Shrewsbury. It’s great to see so many people entered these comps, a big thank you to all the judges for giving up their time. SFYFC are extremely grateful to FBC Manby Bowdler for letting us use their offices as a venue for our competition and for their continued support throughout the year.

Thanks to Bridgnorth who hosted the Pub of the Month at The Stable Bar, there was a great turn out. There is no POTM this month due to the Pantos and One Pluses taking over, but it will be back in March
