Competitions begin!

December

11

Competitions started with our Intermediate members…

Intermediates members were busy at the start of November preparing for our ‘Just a Minute’ competition. We had a fantastic number of entries, with 19 teams competing on the night from all over the county. The standard this year was high and it was great to see so many members getting involved, both those who were competing for the first time and those who had competed before.

Our 19 teams were first split across two village halls in the first round which were Harmer Hill village hall for our north round and Leebotwood village hall for the south round.

Results were as follows:

North Round:

1st - Brown Clee

2nd – Whitchurch

Best Speaker Female -  Nancy Rollings

Best Speaker Male – Robyn Hardman

South Round:

1st – Wem

2nd – Whitchurch

Best Speaker Female -  Sally Jameson

Best Speaker Male – Mark Bates

Our qualifiers from both the North and South rounds then went on to compete in our ‘Just a Minute’ final held at Crosshouses village hall.

A huge thank you to all our judges and stewards throughout this competition. Especially to Jane Hughes from Manby Bowdler and Charlie Bourne who judged our very competitive final. A special thank you to James from Shropshire Farm Vets who are one of our valued sponsors, who came to present our prizes at the Final.

Results were as follows:

Final Round:

1st – Brown Clee

2nd – Whitchurch B

3rd – Wem

4th – Whitchurch A

Best Female Speaker – Annabelle Beaman (Brown Clee)
