The First Chairman's Charity Challenge Was A Success
On Sunday 26th November Shropshire Young Farmers completed their first of twelve charity challenges set by newly elected Chairman Clarrie Hocknell. The first challenge took place in Whitchurch at Alderford Lake where brave young farmers took to the water for a sponsored swim in aid of The Lingen Davies Cancer Fund and Shropshire Riding for the Disabled. Jim Griffiths took this to another extreme by completing the challenge without a wetsuit. They managed to raise £500 through sponsorship, a tombola and guess the name of the bull. Clarrie would like to thank everyone who kindly helped make the event a success. She would like to say a special thanks to all the staff at Alderford Lake and Rob Bebbington the owner for his support and generosity. Look out for the next exciting challenge, it could be coming your way.
